The two-day event with lessons out in the pasture as well as indoors, will include hands-on learning opportunities and several guest speakers.

Topics covered this year will include range and riparian health, hands-on plant identification, grazing principles and practices, virtual fencing and soil erosion.

The event will also include local ranching stories by women and provide tips for managing species at risk.

The two-day school will run July 22 and 23 at the Cassils Community Centre outside Brooks and will cost $135 to register.

The registration fee also covers all meals on July 22 and breakfast and lunch July 23, as well as all course materials and a plant identification book.

Participants are asked to register online.
