Friday’s tilt with Lethbridge remained close until halfway through the second period when the opposition took a five-minute major penalty. Sabres erupted for four goals in the five-minute stretch on the way to an 11-6 win. John Peters at 59kg defeated Tyler Wilchowy of Hilltop in what was Peters very first career match-up. The win did not come easily however. Peters lost the first round 0-7 and came to the corner exhausted. He came back in the second round winning narrowly 4-3 forcing a third round of action. Peters stayed strong throughout the grueling third round to win 7-3 as time ran out.
