Vauxhall midget Sabres closed its league schedule this past weekend the way they wanted to with two victories. Friday’s tilt with Lethbridge remained close until halfway through the second period when the opposition took a five-minute major penalty. Sabres erupted for four goals in the five-minute stretch on the way to an 11-6 win. Brett Oseen led the way with four goals and an assist with Branden Martin right behind with three markers and one helper. The other goal scorers were Thomas Hudson, Karsten Kanegawa, Matt Petek and Shawn Armstrong. Hudson took home the hard hat for his strong play. Sabres traveled to Pincher Creek on Saturday and took home a 3-0 victory. Oseen, Martin and Matt Miller tallied for the Sabres. Shawn Armstrong took the hard hat for hardest-working Sabre. Rusty Howg recorded his third shutout of the season. NOVICE: Vauxhall Sabres won 15-10 in an offensive barrage over Taber Sharks on Sunday. Ethan Klemen had four goals and three assists. Owen Kress also sniped four goals and Blake Kondor potted the hat trick. Jacob Portz had two goals to go with two assists and Hayden Mack and Joel Portz each had singles. Ryley Plettl drew an assist. Donovan Johnston earned the win in net. PRENOVICE: Vauxhall Sabres skated to a 15-6 loss to Lethbridge Hurricane Flames on Saturday. Kaden Walburger had a hat trick and Wyatt Broderson had two goals. Alec Boes scored his first-ever goal. Walburger also drew an assist. |
