Foodgrains success in 2013

It was a very successful year with this year’s fundraiser and harvest.

It was a very good turn out again at harvest time and we also had great support once again from businesses in the local area.

Thanks to the community support we are once again able to send a cheque of $100,000 to the Canadian Food Grains Bank which was a combination of donations and money earned from the field with a possibility of a four to one investment from the government this will be very beneficial.

We found Saturday was good to hold the harvest to allow the community to witness and take part, we will try again weather pending next year and we appreciate people for coming out and supporting us.

We are looking for a field for the 2014 project so it there is anyone interested they can contact myself or Jan Bennen and we can discuss the details of the project, We do have the ability to pay some rent for the land.  

For the most part we have had fields located on the highway but we don’t want to discourage anyone if you are out in the country.
