On February 24, 2018, at 4:45 a.m., Taber Vauxhall RCMP were called to a complaint of a stabbing in Vauxhall.

Members attended and located a male who had been stabbed once by another male during an altercation that occurred at a house party. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by EMS to Taber Hospital where he was released a short time later.

The suspect fled the scene but RCMP located him several blocks away in an unlocked vehicle that did not belong to him.

The accused is a youth and therefore cannot be named. He was taken into custody and charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. The accused has been released at this time to appear in court on March 23 at the Taber Courthouse.

As this matter is now before the courts no further information will be provided.
