Vauxhall novice “D” Sabres team was able to skate to a 6-5 victory over Magrath on Friday. Wyatt Broderson, Cole McClelland, Brittney Kambeitz and Ewan Wolosuk scored goals for Vauxhall with assists from Jared Huvenaars and Cody Wickenheiser. Scout Sidam earned the win in net. In other novice hockey action, the “S” Sabres were home on the weekend against Irvine for a league game and an exhibition game against Brooks. It was a close game against Irvine that ended in a 9-9 tie. Scoring for Vauxhall were Quinn Odland, Kaden Virostek, and Simon Virostek had a hat trick. In the shoot out at the end of the game Austin Broderson, Kaden Virostek, Avery Sande and Ashlyn Retzler all put one in the net. Against Brooks the team posted a loss of 9-3. Kaden Virostek got the hat trick, assisted by Quinn Odland and Gavin Kester. The team has no scheduled games on the Christmas break, but will start again in the New Year. PEEWEE: Vauxhall peewee Sabres earned two big wins over its competition over the weekend. The first was a 9-3 win over Redcliff on the road on Saturday. Chase Honess, Brant Mack, Kevin Turner and Dakota Koch scored goals for the Sabres, as Turner and Mack drew assists. In a 10-3 win over Bow Island on Sunday at the Taber arena, Turner, Brody Kester, Owen Birch, Nick Zalik and Brayden Stokes all tallied. Marshal Enns, Honess, Turner, Mack, Stokes and Birch had assists. Blaise Unruh was in net for both wins. |
