The novice ‘S’ Sabres were excited to get back to hockey after the New Year. On Sunday, the team played against Bow Island and fell 7-4. Kaden Virostek had the hat trick with Quinn Odland getting a single for Vauxhall.
The team will be in Irvine this weekend for a tournament.
In other novice hockey action, the ‘D’ Sabres concluded December play with a 9-4 victory over Raymond and also a victory over Redcliff.
In the Raymond win, Brennan Kambeitz, Brittney Kambeitz and Wyatt Broderson scored goals. Assists went to Broderson, Ewan Wolosuk, Cody Wickenheiser, Brittney Kambeitz, Cole McClelland and Grayson Brummelhuis. Jared Huvenaars earned the win in net.
Britney Kambeitz, Brennan Kambeitz, Wolosuk, McClelland, Huvenaars and Wickenheiser all scored in the win over Redcliff with Scout Sidam earning the win in net.
The novice ‘D’ Sabres were in a tough second-year novice tournament on the weekend in which the team managed an 0-3-1 record.
The team played solid with its teamwork, having only three second years on the team.
The Sabres return to regular season play this weekend.
