One man is dead and another is in custody in Taber, while members of the RCMP there are investigating the case as a homicide.
On Tuesday morning, Taber RCMP responded to a complaint of a missing person and a disturbance. They discovered the body of an adult man on a rural property north of town.
Investigators said Wednesday evening they believe the victim and the man in custody were known to one another.
Police say they “are of the opinion that the man’s death was not a random act and that the public should not have concerns for their own safety in relation to this incident.”
An autopsy is to be conducted today at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary.
RCMP said the name of the deceased and the name of the person in custody are not being released at this time.
