The annual Vauxhall Cemetery Cleanup was held last month with the Retlaw 4-H Club and Hays 4-H clubs once again helping out.

There were two welcome guests from Holland, grandparents of Harian and Lammert Wildeboer helping, as well as four members of the Vauxhall Cemetery Committee. It was a cold day with rain, starting around 5 p.m. Paul Gow brought his tractor to haul dirt where it was needed.

Ron Friesen cooked hot dogs supplied by Leona Wright for everyone to enjoy. Edna Enns supplied donuts, and Warren Porter Insurance supplied the water.

The grass was not cut by M.D. staff due to the inclement weather, therefore a lot of the lower areas could not be found. Ruts made over the winter were filled with the 4-Hers raking and leveling the dirt.

There was some mishaps done over the winter, as a cement pad for a bench by the columbarium was damaged as well as a headstone was knocked over. Family was notified.
