Taber/Vauxhall RCMP investigated a total of 30 calls for service for the week of Dec. 3-9.
Investigations of note included numerous traffic collisions between vehicles and between vehicles and deer.
Taber RCMP are reminding drivers to drive according to the rules of the road, the weather conditions and to keep an eye out for wildlife while driving.
If damage to both vehicles is over $2,000 you are required to report to the nearest RCMP detachment or police station.
Other investigations included a couple of complaints regarding impaired driving in the area. During the month of December, Taber RCMP are focusing on road safety by increasing its endeavours to prevent impaired driving through public awareness and prosecution.
This will be evident from an increased number of check stops and from an increased number of traffic stops that are conducted.
The public can also be effective in preventing impaired driving by discussing this matter with persons they are concerned about, and by providing safe transportation options to intoxicated persons. The RCMP reminds the public to make transportation arrangements before they attend events where they plan to consume alcohol.
If you have concerns about someone you care about driving while impaired, you may make an anonymous phone call to the local RCMP in regards to your concerns and the RCMP will attempt to locate the individual driving and alleviate the concerns.
