The Vauxhall peewee Sabres had a rough go of it this past weekend in Central Alberta Hockey League action.
Saturday saw the team matchup against Nanton on the road for an early afternoon game where the Sabres fell 6-3. Greyden Pedersen found the back of the net twice while Jasper Sidam potted the other for Vauxhall. Brynn Retzler and Landon McEwen also found the score sheet with an assist each. Goaltender Daxon Van Hal stopped 31 saves on 37 shots.
The team returned home on Sunday to take on Redcliff where they faced the same 6-3 result.
McEwen tallied two of the team’s goals while Sidam provided the other offence. Retzler, Pedersen and Austan Axelson each provided an assist in the loss.Van Hal was back in net and made 28 saves.
The peewee Sabres are back on the ice this Saturday when they head to Cardston for a 1:15 p.m. puck drop.
