What happened?

Posted on September 21, 2023 by Vauxhall Advance

Written in Canada’s Parliament building the Bible verse “Even if I settle on the far side of the Sea there your hand will guide me”. And on the Peace Tower, Ps 72:8 “He shall have Dominion from Sea to Sea”.

Today, 156 years after its founding, Canada seems to have changed, that word “He” shall have dominion, to “We” shall have dominion. Did our founding mothers and fathers perfectly follow what the Bible was teaching about ‘He shall have Dominion’, no, certainly not, but the basic principles that it teaches was mostly practiced.

Based on that they also believed that the building block of a society starts with the family unit, with the leadership of dad and mom, they would be models for an organized society, as the Bible teaches in the 10 Commandments, were even the founders of Canada, and us able to keep all those commandments? No, we were not, and that’s the reason that not “We” but “He” must have the dominion for the direction of our Canada.

So what’s the result of choosing “We” 156 years later? We went from an imperfect Canada to a troubled one. We seem to have lost our direction, did we lose our vision of what is good or bad, is it the permissive society? Among other things, is legalizing these feel good drugs a benefit to our society? Resulting in terrible misery and death by overdose, what is our real goal in life? The Bible sums it up “Love the Lord your God, and your neighbour as yourself”. To start with you can volunteer at the food bank, visit neighbours, hospitals, schools, senior homes, just try it, see around you what’s happening in Church and service clubs. Will that solve all your problems? Not for me, either. So what do you think, on your life’s journey will you seek help from the “He” or “We”? I feel safer with “He”. So I ask you, “What Happened?”

Proud to be your fellow Canadian.
