Suspicious vehicle call leads to arrest in Hays area

On Jan. 8, Taber/Vauxhall RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the Hays area.

RCMP members attended and found the vehicle was stolen out of Lethbridge and found break in tools in the vehicle along with other property.

The driver and the passenger in the vehicle were both arrested.

Alan Clifford, age 38 from Lethbridge, was arrested on warrants for outstanding charges from the Taber Police Service and Lethbridge Police Service.

Clifford was also charged with possession of stolen property, possession of break in tools, possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with court conditions.

Debbie Bolender, age 46 from Rolling Hills, was charged with possession of stolen property and possession of break in tools.

A hearing was held for both individuals who were released by a justice of the peace to appear in Taber court. Taber RCMP is asking citizens of the M.D. of Taber to keep an eye out for suspicious vehicles or people in their area.

Taber RCMP, through calls from the public about suspicious vehicles and people, continue to make arrests and lay charges for property crimes committed in southern Alberta.
