M.D. of Taber sells off surplus equipment

The Municipal District of Taber has found some new homes for some of their surplus equipment.

The M.D. advertised a public bid sheet for all surplus equipment earlier this summer and the sealed bids were then opened on Aug. 5 with the results being presented for council approval on Aug. 11.

All surplus equipment was advertised in the local newspaper for public bid and the listings were also sent to auction companies.

Depending on the bids, the M.D. reserves the right to reject any and all offers or to accept any offer which it may consider is in the best interest of the municipality.

Equipment in the sale included 2011 Dodge 1500 (1/2 ton, crew cab) with approximately 252,000 Kms with a high bid of $4,150 by TEAM Auctions, 2007 GMC 1500 (1/2 ton, regular cab) with approximately 194,000 KM with a high big was $2,550 by Gerrit De Boer, 2008 Dodge 1500 (1/2 ton, regular cab) with approximately 242,000 KM with a high bid was $1,650 by TEAM Auctions, 2013 Dodge 2500 (3/4 ton, crew cab) with approximately 230,000 KM with a high bid of $7,010 by TEAM Auctions, 2013 John Deere 872G (with wing and ribber) with approximately 9,110 hours with a high bid of $91,879 by TEAM Auctions, 2002 Loadline (belly gravel trailer, tandem axle) with a high bid of $8,550 by TEAM Auctions.

A 1980 John Deere 8440 (four-shell drive) with approximately 2,947 hours with a high bid of $6,100 by TEAM Auctions, 1998 CAT D7R XR (with straight push, tilt and ripper) with approximately 18,165 hours (the machine had a catastrophic engine failure) with a high bid of $42,999 by Wolf Construction, Hyster Grid Roller had a high bid of $3,210 by TEAM Auctions, 2013 Wacker Neuson LTW20 (light tower) with approximately 10,064 hours with a high bid from TEAM Auctions for $2,125 and Miller Trailblazer 302 (portable welder/generator) had a hid bid of $2,125 by TEAM Auctions.

Council approved the sale of surplus equipment to the high bidder.
