Horizon School Division has announced the appointment of Crystal Carver as the new principal of Enchant School commencing with the 2025-2026 school year.

Carver is a third-generation teacher who has been with Horizon School Division since 2002. She spent the first twenty-two years of her career teaching math and physics at W.R. Myers High School, and most recently made the switch to the role of instructional coach this past year. Carver also serves on the Local ATA Executive as both vice president and Local Women in Leadership Chair.

Carver’s education, completed at the University of Lethbridge, includes a combined Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Education, majoring in mathematics, with a minor in science education.

Carver has been married to her husband, Kurt, for almost twenty-five years, and they have two daughters, Emily and Rebecca. She enjoys camping, reading, traveling, laughing, and being around family. Her favourite moment of her career so far has been the opportunity to teach both of her daughters while at W.R. Myers.

While responding to how she feels about her new adventure, Carver stated, “I am so thrilled and looking forward to joining the Enchant School community! It is very obvious to see that the students and the staff enjoy going to school every day. I am looking forward to working with everyone at Enchant School, to continue the longstanding tradition of a welcoming environment and quality education.”

She also mentioned that she was thankful for the opportunity this past year to work with all the staff at the Division Office and is excited to join the strong team of administrators within Horizon School Division.
