On May 2, Vauxhall Elementary School will host a STEM event starting at 10:30 a.m.

“The goal of STEM Night is to encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving,” said Principal of Vauxhall Elementary School, Tammy Reiling. “Students will get to have the opportunity to create a presentation that ties in science, technology, engineering and math. They will then showcase their creations in the gym during the day, and invite peers and families in to see and learn about their creations.”

Reiling says that the school is ‘very excited’ to host their first ever event of this nature.

“Students have been engaging in STEM classes all year and Grades 1 to 3 are led by Chelsea St. Denis and Grades 4 to 6 are led by Leslie Vogel,” said Reiling. “They are working closely with Ashley Leer, a dedicated VES parent, to organize the event.”

Vauxhall Elementary School, Reiling says, is also grateful for the support of the Parent Council, who are proudly sponsoring this year’s event.

“The STEM event was created to give families a chance to see the incredible learning happening in VES classrooms. It’s also a wonderful way for parents to get involved in their child’s education,” said Reiling. “Events like this inspire students to take risks, try new ideas, and discover that learning is exciting. Participating in STEM activities helps kids build confidence, work through challenges, and develop important life skills. Most importantly, it shows them that learning can be fun and meaningful.”
