Business of the Year to be announced on Nov. 15

On Nov. 15, the winner of the Vauxhall and District Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year will be celebrated at the Vauxhall Community Hall during their Ribfest and Volunteer Awards Gala.

Vauxhall Chamber of Commerce Office Manager Lynda Unruh says that the event is sponsored by the Ag Society along with the Vauxhall and District Chamber of Commerce. 

Nominations for Business of the Year, Unruh says, are received from any individual or group that would like to recognize a local business for their outstanding service and commitment to our community.

“We would like to encourage community members to take the time to fill out a nomination form,” said Unruh. “It takes very little time, and you do not need to be a Chamber member to be nominated or selected for this award.”

The actual event, Unruh says, will begin at 5 p.m. with cocktails, and will be followed by the Ribfest at 6 p.m. A dinner show titled ‘Long Live the Musicals,’ Unruh says, will take place from 6:30 to 7 p.m., the awards ceremony will be from 7:30 to 7:45 p.m., and the entertainment and dancing portion of the evening will run from 8 to 11 p.m. The musical and theatrical entertainment, Unruh says, will be provided by the Jacklyn Sparrow Band and the dance will be serenaded by The Diva Dance Party.

“The chamber is here to support and encourage our local business community,” said Unruh. “We think this is a great way to recognize the efforts of those doing an amazing job in our community.”
