While southern Alberta can see temperature and weather conditions change in an instant, the Vauxhall Jets sure hope the snow is gone for good this spring.
The Jets were able to get in a game against the Prairie Baseball Academy JV squad on Monday afternoon at Lloyd Nolan Yard and it saw the Jets have a complete game on all sides of the ball. After nine innings, the Jets had collected a 28-1 victory.
The Jets sent nine pitchers to the bump throughout the game and results were great as they continue to ramp up their workloads. Drew Lenehan got the start and went a scoreless, no-hit first inning. Next up for the Jets was Mason DeRyuck who allowed a hit, but also struck out the side. Garrett Smith went in the third inning and completed a no-hit inning.
Parker Austin was the next pitcher up and the pitcher saw a bit of trouble allowing two hits, including a home run and a walk. Matthew Mackenzie got the fifth inning and despite giving up two free passes, he worked his way out of trouble and didn’t allow a run.
