The bulk water fill stations are an important part of the M.D. of Taber.
“The bulk water fill stations in the M.D. of Taber are essential infrastructure that provides potable water to bulk water haulers,” said Carley Grant, Communications Coordinator for the M.D. of Taber.
Grant says that the stations operate 24/7 and are located in strategic areas such as the hamlets of Enchant, Hays, and Grassy Lake, and the town of Vauxhall.
“They cater to individuals or entities with prepaid bulk water accounts within the M.D. of Taber,” said Grant. “These stations serve the M.D. by facilitating the efficient and convenient access to potable water for bulk water haulers who rely on the distribution system. They offer a reliable water source year-round, crucial for various purposes, including agricultural, industrial, or commercial activities. Residents and businesses benefit from the station by having a readily available source of potable water, ensuring their water needs are met without constraints, especially in areas where access might be limited or unavailable through traditional means.”
Grant says that residents of the M.D. of Taber typically access the bulk water station by setting up a prepaid bulk water account.
“This account allows them to use the station’s services upon payment or deposit of a certain amount of money, ensuring they have credits to access water as needed,” said Grant.
Residents, Grant says, can create a bulk water account by visiting the M.D.’s website at https://www.mdtaber.ab.ca/p/bulk-water-account-application and submitting an online form or by calling 403-223-3541 or visiting the Administration office.
“The M.D. of Taber views the station as a critical service that meets the water needs of its residents and businesses, contributing to the local economy and infrastructure,” said Grant.
