BluEarth Renewables has announced Daniel Guenther of Enchant was awarded the BluEarth Renewables’ Community Leaders Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded annually to students who demonstrate a commitment to giving back to their community, and is specifically targeted at the regions where BluEarth operates.
“We are pleased to recognize Daniel Guenther and support his educational journey” said Kelly Matheson-King, Chief Operating Officer at BluEarth Renewables. “This scholarship program has been an important part of our community investment program for more than a decade and is an important way that we give back to the communities where we live, work and operate.”
Daniel Guenther was chosen for his exemplary academic records, leadership skills and passion for design and city innovation. While attending Vauxhall High School, Daniel was active in his school community and served on the Student Council as President, leading meetings, organizing clean-up events and delegating committees. Daniel also gave back to his community as a Stepping Stones Mentor, providing friendship and team building skills to elementary school students.
“I really appreciate the scholarship that BluEarth has awarded me, it’s helped me in so many ways. I didn’t realize design school would require so many costs besides tuition so receiving the funds have helped me a lot,” said Daniel Guenther. “This scholarship has inspired me to focus my studies on sustainable development and ensuring that the future of the built environment can coexist with the natural environment. And, I would like to include I would not have received this scholarship if not for the support and encouragement I received from my family and the staff of Vauxhall High School.”
Daniel is currently in his first year at the University of Calgary’s School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape studying city innovation and design.
