Vauxhall residents can now check their voter registration status online.
During their regular Feb. 18 meeting, Vauxhall town council reviewed information pertaining to voter’s registration.
According to the council memo, Bill 20: Municipal Affairs Statute Amendment Act, had amended the Local Authorities Election Act to include a requirement for municipalities to use the most recent provincial register of electors from Elections Alberta, requiring them to prepare an electors register of residents who are eligible to vote.
The Town of Vauxhall has posted a link on their website under the Local Government and Council Member section in the 2025 Election Tab, and Vauxhall residents are encouraged to check to ensure their registration information is up to date.
“If you’ve already voted, you can double check (your information),” said Mindy Dunphy, assistant CAO and office manager for the town. “But if you’ve never voted or registered to vote, you can now register, which is nice for us.”
The 2025 Municipal Election will take place on Monday, Oct. 20, with voting stations being open on that day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
If you are looking to run to be a member of Vauxhall town council, nominations are now open, and will remain open until noon on Monday, Sept. 22. Those interested in running for council must submit their nomination at the Vauxhall town office before the deadline. More information on the upcoming municipal election, voting, and nominations is available on the town’s website at https://town.vauxhall.ab.ca/wp/.
