As Vauxhall Jets players start to get ready to return to town, a handful of players have been chosen for the 2026 Toronto Blue Jays Canadian Futures Showcase. From Sept. 17-20 in Vancouver, Canadian baseball players chosen for the showcase will hit the diamond to show their skills. While the showcase is traditionally held in Toronto at the Rogers Centre, a scheduling conflict has seen it shift to Rogers Field at Nathan Bailey Stadium in Vancouver.
For the Jets, they will see nine current and future players head to Vancouver:
2027 RHP Calum Andersen
2027 OF Rogan Rivard
2027 RHP Wil Zielinski
2027 OF Hudson Nikkel
2027 RHP Josh Daloise
2027 INF Will Henzi
2027 RHP Cason Burton
2028 C Tanner Morris
2028 RHP Richard Marshall
“The Blue Jays remain deeply committed to growing the game of baseball in Canada and supporting the next generation of Canadian homegrown talent. The Canadian Futures Showcase has long been a proving ground for young athletes pursuing their academic and athletic dreams, and we are inspired each year by the number of alumni who advance to the professional ranks. We are excited to host the Showcase outside of Ontario for the first time and bring this incredible talent to the West Coast,” said Mark Shapiro, president & CEO, Toronto Blue Jays in a press release.
Final rosters were set on Aug. 17, and players will depart in mid-September for the 12th annual showcase. Players will be split into six different squads (Team Red, Team new Blue, Team Navy, Team Royal, Team Grey, and Team Black). After the welcome dinner on Sept. 16, the players hit the diamond on Sept. 17 for scout day. During scout day, players will compete in a number of different baseball activities including a 60-yard sprint, outfield and infield defence, catcher pop times, batting practice, and more.
After all six teams are done with their session, they will start round-robin games. Sept. 18 and Sept. 19 see all teams play round-robin games to determine which teams make the championship game on Sept. 20. Before the big game, players will compete in a home run derby at 9 a.m., followed by the championship at 11 a.m.
Team rosters will be set closer to the date. For more information on the 2026 showcase, visit https://www.mlb.com/bluejays/community/baseball-academy/canadian-futures-showcase/futures-roster.
