MD of Taber Regional Fire Service

Due to current hot, dry conditions and continued dry weather in the forecast, the Municipal District of Taber has issued a fire advisory (on July 29) for all municipal boundaries, effective immediately and until further notice.

While the fire advisory is in effect, residents and visitors are advised that there is an elevated risk of wildfire. Fire permits will continue to be issued; however, anyone conducting a controlled burn is urged to exercise extreme caution and closely monitor conditions at all times.

The Municipal District of Taber will continue to monitor weather and fire risk conditions and will adjust the advisory as necessary. The goal of the advisory is to raise public awareness of the increased fire danger, help protect people and property, and reduce the risk of costly emergency responses.

The Fire Advisory took effect at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, and will remain in place until further notice.
