Hard surface repair program underway for MD of Taber

MD of Taber

The Municipal District of Taber is advising residents and motorists that work associated with the 2026 Hard Surface Repair Program will be commencing on several municipal roadways throughout the month of August.

The project will consist of a combination of asphalt overlays and localized roadway dig-outs and repairs to address deteriorated pavement and extend the service life of existing infrastructure.

Work is scheduled to occur on the following roadways:

—RR 16-4 (Walmart Road), south of Highway 3

—Tractor Dealership Road, parallel to Highway 3

—RR 17-4, south of Highway 3

—Various localized locations within Grassy Lake

Motorists should expect intermittent traffic disruptions, reduced speeds, lane restrictions, and the presence of construction equipment within the project areas. Access to businesses, residences, and agricultural operations will be maintained whenever possible; however, minor delays may be experienced during construction activities.

Residents and road users are reminded to obey all traffic control devices and exercise caution when travelling through work zones to ensure the safety of workers and the public.

Applications open for annual
Bursary Program

Starting August 1, applications are officially open for the 2026 MD of Taber Annual Bursary Program.

The Municipal District of Taber’s bursary program is designed to support students pursuing post-secondary education and careers in agriculture and the agri-food industry. Each year, the MD awards four one-time bursaries of $500 to deserving students working toward a future in agriculture.
