In Taber provincial court on March 7, Dawn Hart pled guilty to one count of possession of stolen property, and one count of failure to comply with a probation order. The accused didn’t appear in court, and an agent pled guilty on their behalf. Crown prosecutor R. Poelzer read the facts of the case into the record. On Nov. 3, 2020 a police officer saw Hart and two other individuals stealing items from a Salvation Army donation box in Vauxhall. Following them, and eventually stopping all three of them, Hart confessed to stealing the items from the donation box. On March 17, 2021 the Taber Police Service received a call informing them that Hart had failed to make contact with her probation officer. This in turn violated the probation order that she was currently serving.
Judge E.W. Peterson sentenced Hart to serve 10 days in custody and is required to pay a $500 fine.
